spatial facilitation (the artist is presence)

spatial facilitation (the artist is presence)

spatial facilitation, a term of art in physiology, refers to stimuli that contribute to the accurate processing of visual information. That is to say, there are certain things that we see — that help us see more precisely. spatial facilitation is an ongoing project of mapping clearer vision through walking, noticing, the breath, and the saxophone. ANALOG SOLUTIONS FOR ANALOG PROBLEMS.

In spatial facilitation (the artist is presence) I'll visit the exhibitions and installations of the festival (as well as other places of note along Hamraborg) while having a dialogue with the objects, materials, and beings present–through the saxophone.

I invite all audience to traverse with me.

Simultaneously, I will transmit the signal of the sound of my saxophone amplified through electronic effects to a room in Catalína.

I invite all audience to hang out in this room.

I will then join myself on stage and continue playing the saxophone and electronic effects.

We will then discuss what we saw and experienced throughout the traverse.
