Since 2012, I have undertaken an expansionist and poetic project entitled ég fann eyjuna mín -bolide Z / I found my island – bolide Z. To date, six territories have been approached and explored: the Gardens of the Imagination in Dordogne, the great volcanoes of Reunion Island, Berlin deconstructed and reconstructed, the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics in Potsdam, the lava fields of Iceland, and the mangroves of New Caledonia. The project began in 2012 with the discovery of Reunion Island, in the Southern Hemisphere, and found its resonance in the Northern Hemisphere, in Iceland.
For the Hamraborg Festival 2025, I will present an installation composed of photographic prints, sculptures, videos, and performances. These works retrace this artistic journey by creating a visual and poetic narrative of the project initiated in 2012.
The exhibition will be displayed inside a vehicle parked within the festival grounds. As a true itinerant module, it will then continue its journey across the Icelandic roads until the end of September.
