Maria Meldgaard Alejnikow is a Danish artist, based Iceland where she works as a multi-media artist who investigates cognition, materiality and the inner relationship between nature and humans in her practice. Always having lived in close proximity to the sea, she often draws a connection between her own work process and the tides of the sea. Through her work, she aims to create a dialogue between humans and nature, where the cycles of everyday life and technology dependency is interrupted. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Icelands Academy of Arts and is currently pursuing a bachelor in Psychology, she is currently working with merging these fields of study in her art practice.
