Kristín Sigfríður Garðarsdóttir, ceramicist and designer, runs her own studio, STUDÍÓ SUBBA, at Korpúlfsstaðir. Kristín works equally with functional objects and visual art. A strong sense of materiality and meticulous craftsmanship are characteristic features of her work, and she often draws inspiration from Japanese crafts, Icelandic nature, and the traditions of Nordic design. Kristín has exhibited her work in Iceland and abroad, including solo exhibitions in Kyoto and Tokyo. Kristín has had the opportunity to undertake residencies for several months at a time on three occasions: at the SCCP in Japan and at the EKWC in the Netherlands. She has also worked on projects with the TextielMuseum in Tilburg and participated in Dutch Design Week last year.
