Augusto is a Portuguese artist who studied illustration in Lisbon and is currently based in Reykjavík, Iceland. He began his career by publishing work online before working as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist for newspapers. His practice spans illustration, murals, visual identity design, and painting.

Capturing emotions, awkward moments, and inner thoughts through a distinctly illustrative language, his work features characters that are cute yet grotesque; horny and sarcastic; pretty, but in unconventional ways. He draws on private moments and the thoughts people have but rarely say or share, infusing them with a subtly twisted sense of humour.

For the festival, Augusto presents a newly developed series of paintings and illustrations at Polo Vape Shop where the colourful works will spread across the walls of the space.

All exhibitions open on Friday, August 28 at 5pm and remain open during each location’s regular opening hours until September 4.
