
Thomas Pausz & Miguel Angel Crozzoli
Thomas Pausz (b. Paris, FR) is a designer, media artist and researcher based in Reykjavík. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Intelligent Instruments Lab at the University of Iceland, with a project bridging artistic research, experimental humanities and critical technology studies. Pausz holds an MA from the Royal College of Art, London, and a BA in Philosophy & Media Studies from Paris X University. In his interdisciplinary practice, Pausz creates experimental media ecosystems to propose alternative ecologies and relations to the non-human environments. He was a recipient of the Stanley Picker Fellowship in Art & Design (2023–24), and an Artist in residence at the Laboratoire Modulaire (ESAM Caen) in 2021-2022. Pausz received the Icelandic Artist Salary Fund (2021-22), and a Reykjavík Design Award in 2019.
Miguel Angel Crozzoli - is a composer, saxophonist, and Ph.D. candidate in Cultural Studies, currently conducting research project at the Intelligent Instruments Lab in Reykjavik. Miguel studied European composition, jazz studies, and cultural management in Argentina, and holds an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma and a master's degree from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, where he conducted practice-based research on the aesthetic potential of sonifications. He believes in the power of sound as a transformative experience for societies, and is particularly interested in data democratization and knowledge dissemination. Through research interest in music, new technologies, data, and AI, he explores the questions about the role of the arts in critical thinking and perception.
