Páll Óskar

Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson (“Paul Oscar”) is a true Icelandic icon if there ever was one. He has been one of Iceland’s most loved and flamboyant Icelandic popstars of the last two decades. Paul Oscar (born Páll Óskar in 1970) is a self taught singer and has been working as one since childhood. Paul Oscar is one of the few Icelandic singers who is capable of performing big ballads as well as belting out house anthems simultaneously. Paul Oscar is an outspoken gay activist who has played a large part in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Iceland, along with other important activists before him and those who followed. He has released many solo albums and several collaborative albums, earned the Icelandic Music Awards for Singer of the Year, Online Voter’s Favourite and Listeners Favourite. His greatest hits collection „Silfursafnið“ (The Silver Collection - 2008) has sold over 20.000 copies in Iceland at the time of writing. Paul Oscar is currently working on his next solo album.

Benni Hemm Hemm is the artist name of Benedikt H. Hermannsson. SummerPlate EP, released in 30 copies in 2003 was Benni Hemm Hemm´s first release. Since then Benni Hemm Hemm has released 14 LPs, 4 EPs, one theatre music album, two poetry books and has performed his music in various different band setups and solo performances.
