Hekla Kollmar (2002) is an artist based in Reykjavík, working primarily in sculpture and installation. Her process builds on alertness to everyday situations, their gestures, materiality, and implications. Whilst observing the conversations and natures of objects, she looks at the human tendency to catagorize our surroundings. Her works oscillate between meaning and perception, equally earnest and absurd. Kollmar graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Iceland University of the Arts in 2024 and is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at University of Iceland. Her work has been shown in solo- and group exhibitions around Iceland and in Berlin.
